Töölönlahdenpuisto Park out for public review

In close collaboration with the City of Helsinki, MASU Planning has developed a concept plan for the renovation of Töölönlahdenpuisto Park – one of the central parks in the Finnish capital.

The City of Helsinki is planning major changes to Töölönlahdenpuisto Park, and the new concept plan outlines the general guidelines for the future of the area. These guidelines are based on interviews with residents, associations, and operators.

Increasing the amount of greenery was one of the paramount wishes, so the plan aims to make nature an even more integral part of the park by increasing the number of trees and introducing more diverse and layered vegetation.

The current large-scale lawn will be transformed into several smaller event areas, water features will become a stronger part of the park experience, and the popular coastal route around the park will be expanded and better integrated with the park itself.

Concurrently with the public review, the City of Helsinki has initiated various temporary activities to allow citizens and tourists to enjoy the park throughout the summer.

The public review runs until June 30th.
