26 Mar 2025 The library as a landscape
The refurbishment and extension of the Helsingborg City Library is progressing.
Until April 4, the detailed development plan for the library is under review, and citizens are invited to comment on the plan.
Emphasizing a strong connection between the existing Helsingborg City Library and a new extension integrated into the sloping park terrain, the project draws inspiration from the site’s inherent spatial, material, and immaterial qualities, as well as its unique location in Stadsparken.
The existing park and a new rooftop garden will be seamlessly woven together, creating a cohesive and distinctive urban green space.
The city library will evolve into a continuous landscape for cultural exchange and community, reaching every corner of the city. It will offer a safe and welcoming space for people of all ages, backgrounds, and shared interests – a place to experience both nature and culture simultaneously.
