06 Oct 2025 Say hi to Olivia …
Please join us in giving Olivia Kuhlmann Gehl a warm welcome as our new landscape architect in Copenhagen.
Olivia recently obtained her master’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Copenhagen. She already brings several years of professional experience from VEGA Landskab, where she worked part-time during her studies – as well as full-time during a break between her bachelor’s and master’s programs.
Olivia has had her eye on MASU Planning for quite some time.
“I got to meet MASU Planning even before starting my studies, when I visited the studio to learn more about the field of landscape architecture and gain insight into what kinds of projects they were working on. At the time, the team was in the process of completing H.C. Andersen’s Garden. Witnessing the playful, creative, yet deeply respectful approach to the project made a strong impression on me and confirmed that pursuing a degree in landscape architecture was the right path for me,” Olivia says.
“In that sense, it feels very wholesome to now become part of the team – and I’m very excited to take on new projects, learn from MASU’s way of working, and contribute to meaningful landscapes that reflect the same thoughtfulness and creativity that inspired me in the first place,” she adds.
First up, Olivia will be working on the design of a new grave area that continues MASU Planning’s development plan for Solbjerg Parkkirkegård in Frederiksberg.
Nature and landscapes also play an important role in Olivia’s spare time.
“I’m always curious about how things work – whether in nature or in a more technological sense – which often leads me to take on various hands-on projects in my free time, like fixing bikes, gardening, and currently restoring my new (very old) apartment.”
“I enjoy hiking and spending time in nature, observing landscapes and natural systems up close. Recently, I completed a hunting license with my sister to deepen our understanding of Danish wildlife – and hopefully to contribute to responsible wildlife regulation near our family summerhouse on the fox-free island of Sejerø.”
We’re excited to welcome Olivia to the team and look forward to drawing on her up-to-date knowledge of the field of landscape architecture.
