Say hi to Emilia and Ida

Please join us in giving Emilia Przydryga and Ida Svensson Levin a warm welcome as our new interns for the first half of 2026.

Originally from Poland and currently living in Malmö, Emilia has a background in architecture from the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań, Poland, and is currently finishing her master’s studies in architecture with a specialization in Sustainable Urban Design at Lund University. Emilia’s work experience includes positions in the UK, Poland, and Denmark, where she has worked at Kragh & Berglund and Gehl.

Her interest in architecture and landscape architecture was ignited in childhood, she explains: “From a very young age I have been interested in maps. Many of my childhood drawings represented floor plans of my house and its surroundings, as well as neighborhoods and spaces that were important to me at different stages of my life. My architecture studies allowed me to further investigate this childhood curiosity about the spaces around me. Through my education and professional work, I have found good urban landscapes to be key to better well-being and a happier life – oh, to see a green tree from your window every day… As a designer, I also want to advocate for equal, accessible, and barrier-free streets and squares for all – humans as well as non-humans.”

Emilia has had a keen eye on MASU Planning for years, and during her stay she will help us with competitions. “I have always admired how the office operates within the language of landscape and architecture, with a strong focus on detail, patterns, species choice, colors, and the type of life each project will create. I am looking forward to being part of a team of such talented creatives and hope my skills will complement the office.”

Staying busy, Emilia will travel to Ljubljana in March, where she has been accepted to be part of the Urban Future Conference program.

Her spare time is divided between the earth and the sea: “One of my latest passions is investigating foodscapes at my allotment garden. Every year I discover new solutions and try to grow new species in the Skåne climate, which I later turn into delicious feasts and gifts for my family and friends. Besides gardening, I enjoy sailing in Øresund when the wind is a three on the Beaufort scale. My favorite way of releasing my creativity is through clothing design, preferably using reused materials, either knitting or sewing,” Emilia concludes.

Ida is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture at the University of Copenhagen, which she will complete as part of her internship at MASU Planning. Born in Denmark, Ida identifies herself as a chronic expat, having lived most of her life across Europe, including France, Switzerland, Germany, England, and the Netherlands.

Ida chose to study landscape architecture based on anti-inspiration: “Most large European cities are built in haste, prioritizing functionality over the citizens’ experience, but I think we can do better. I see the future of city planning in landscape architecture, where people, nature, and design meet in a sustainable synthesis. At least, that’s what I envision,” says Ida with a hopeful smile.

During her internship, Ida will examine Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as a tool to measure and potentially reduce the climate impact of landscape architecture. Since 2023, LCA has been a legal requirement for all new buildings, and it is expected that LCA will also become a requirement for landscape projects in the coming years.

Ida is looking forward to becoming part of our office, diving into our projects, and taking part in our daily endeavors. “In my opinion, the most valuable aspect of landscape architecture is what we learn through each other – as colleagues, as users of space, and as beings with differing needs and cultural backgrounds. MASU Planning is abundant in internationals and has a welcoming atmosphere, creating an office culture where people are curious about one another. To me, this defines an inspiring work environment where there is never one right answer. Our differences are where a space gains its magic, and I believe this is truly evident in MASU’s projects,” Ida concludes.

Furthermore, Ida will continue her student position as social media manager for Danske Landskabsarkitekter.

Living in an old Copenhagen apartment, Ida spends much of her free time on DIY interior design and Feng Shui solutions. Other favorite pastimes include long walks on the beach, a glass of wine, and a good read on Substack.

We’re looking forward to being inspired by Emilia and Ida.
