19 Aug 2024 Say hello to Anna and Ivonne
A big welcome to Anna Maria Lundman and Ivonne Reséndiz Zambrano – our interns for fall 2024.
Anna is pursuing her master’s degree in landscape architecture at Copenhagen University after earning her bachelor’s degree at SLU Alnarp in Sweden.
“My background in nursing has among other things given me a broader perspective on how outdoor spaces can be improved to accommodate people with different needs,” Anna Says.
For Anna, landscape architecture is about making spaces more functional, beautiful, and meaningful for both humans and animals.
“What fascinates me about landscape architecture is the challenge of viewing a place as a cohesive whole, where diverse elements must be seamlessly integrated. I’ve had my eyes on MASU Planning since I started studying in Copenhagen. I find their holistic approach fascinating, especially how they incorporate different aspects like history and identity in their design. I believe I will learn a lot during my time here,” Anna continues.
In her free time, Anna enjoys growing vegetables and flowers in her garden, hiking in nature, and swimming in the ocean.
Ivonne is studying Architecture at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and has also studied sustainability and rehabilitation of buildings for a year at the UPC-EPSEB in Barcelona. Although she specializes in architecture, she has chosen to write her thesis on wetland areas in the valley region of Mexico City.
“I’m drawn towards landscape architecture because of its ever-changing character, and it’s inherent interaction with the environment,” says Ivonne.
“Furthermore, landscape architecture covers various scales from small garden projects over parks to large urban planning projects which I find very inspiring.”
She stumbled upon MASU Planning while seeking reference projects for one of her university assignments and was intrigued by the public character and sensibility of MASU Planning’s projects.
Ivonne grew up in Mexico City, and in her spare time she likes to cook, draw and she is eager to emerge herself into the unique bicycle culture of the Danish capital.
