PRE-QUALIFIED IN THE COMPETITION TO RE-THINK SKÆVINGE SPORTS HALL

Our team of Nordic Architects, AFM Consulting Engineers, Spangenberg & Madsen Engineers are one of three teams to participate in the competition to design an addition to the existing Sports facilities as well as a new sports hall in Skævinge.

Skævinge is a small town in Northern Zealand where the sports hall isn’t just the place you go to play football – it’s also the main gathering place and center of community life. Today the house doesn’t reflect this multifaceted role as community center nor does the outdoor area inspire to activities other than football.

We aim to create coherence between the different institutions, sport hall and the town. To turn the flat asphalt and football fields into a welcoming and inspiring space that clearly states that this is not your average suburban FC-something-football club.

As you can see with our Sports Campus Slagelse, it’s not unfamiliar for us to challenge the conventions of a sports hall. Neither is community spaces, our Opinmäki Campus is a flexible playground that gathers children in all ages as well as the local community. Another example is Culture Center Mariehøj that also functions as a community and culture center.

We already have a good cooperation with Nordic, with whom we have done several projects and competitions with like our Climate Schoolyard in Frederiksberg
